Holiday apartment in Dassia, Corfu

Dassia sits on the northeast coast about 13 km from Corfu Town, with a long beach of calm, shallow water that is well suited to swimming and to children. Unlike the hill villages inland, this is a developed resort strip: tavernas, cafes, supermarkets and watersports are all within reach on foot from the shore.

Our apartment is on the hillside above the beach, which is the useful compromise — you get the sea view and the quiet, and the shops and restaurants are a short drive or walk downhill.

Good to know

• Corfu Town is around 13 km away, and there is a frequent local bus, so this is one of the few places we let where a car is optional.
• The beach below is long, sandy-to-shingle and unusually calm, with watersports in season.
• Tavernas, cafes and supermarkets are all close by.
• The airport is roughly 20 minutes away.
• Dassia is livelier and more built-up than our village properties. If you want quiet and traditional, look at Ano Korakiana instead.
