Holiday homes in Ano Korakiana, Corfu
Most of our houses are in Ano Korakiana, and there is a reason we keep coming back to it. It is a real village rather than a resort: children walk to the primary school, the philharmonic band still rehearses, and the two bakeries open early for the people who live here. Nobody is trying to sell you a boat trip.
The village sits on the slopes of Mount Korakio in the centre-north of the island, high enough that the heat breaks in the evening and low enough that you are never far from the sea. Because it is inland and central, you avoid the summer traffic that clogs the single coast roads — and that, more than anything, is what makes it a comfortable base for two weeks rather than two days.

Korakiana Cottage
A 200-year-old stone cottage in the centre of Ano Korakiana. Sleeps 6, one bathroom, private garden. The old details were left in place.
St. George Cottage
Newly renovated house in Ano Korakiana for 4 to 6. Large balcony toward the hills and the sea, air conditioning, bakery nearby. Parking is a few steps down. A car helps.
Youkali Home
Five minutes uphill from Ano Korakiana: a newer house for six, with a shaded balcony over olive groves and cypress. Child kit on request, no charge.
White Jasmine Cottage
A floor of Russian pine, antique art, a library. White Jasmine is a 200-year house at the top of Ano Korakiana, sleeps 6, private garden terrace. The walk from the car is steep.
Harmony House
On the heights of Ano Korakiana. The terrace looks over roofs, olives, sea and mountains. Sleeps 2 to 6. Cooler up here than on the coast, which is what guests write about.
White Sails Cottage
A renovated house in Ano Korakiana for four. From the veranda the view runs down the valley to the sea. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms.
Lily's House
Lily's House, Ano Korakiana: three bedrooms, sleeps 6, terrace and kitchen, parking in front. Bakery and kafeneio in the village. The sea is a short drive. No pool.
Choosing between them
- For two, Harmony House is the one we offer from two guests. White Sails sleeps four. Youkali, Korakiana Cottage, White Jasmine and Lily’s House are let for six.
- Korakiana Cottage has one bathroom for six, and a private garden. White Jasmine has two bathrooms, a library, and a steep walk up from the car. Youkali is the newer house, five minutes uphill, and we can put in child kit if you ask.
- For a winter or shoulder-season stay, look first at Korakiana Cottage, St. George Cottage and White Jasmine Cottage.
Good to know
- On foot in the village: two bakeries, a mini market and a café. A ten-minute walk brings you to Agios Markos and its traditional taverna.
- Corfu Town is 15 km away, about 25 minutes by car.
- Both coasts are within a fifteen-minute drive — Barbati and Dassia to the east, Liapades, Rovinia and Paleokastritsa to the west.
- A hire car is strongly recommended. The village is on a hillside, so expect steep lanes, steps and some walking from parking to the door.
- None of these houses have a pool. The pools we let are at Villa Agni, Lavender Cottage in Skripero (very small), and Myrtle Blue in Dassia.
- Several of these houses have wood-burning stoves and heating, so the village works out of season as well as in August.
